Taiwan Leadership Forum Wrap-up: What We Heard on Data and AI in Pharma
In September, we brought together pharma, medtech and healthcare leaders in Taipei to talk about data and AI. Here's a look back at the sessions, and what attendees told us they took away.

Data and AI Analytics in Pharma
On 10 September 2026, Data Melody hosted the Taiwan Leadership Forum in Taipei, our first stop on the Asia Roadshow. We brought together commercial excellence, analytics and data leaders from multinational pharma, medtech and healthcare companies across Taiwan.
The theme of the day was simple: AI is only as useful as the data underneath it. Over half a day, we looked at how teams can move from scattered data sources to a single, trusted foundation, and from there to AI that understands the business context it works in.
What we covered
• Customer case study: building a data foundation for decision intelligence and AI
• Customer sharing: AI adoption in commercial excellence
• Fireside chat: taking a Taiwan pilot to an APAC rollout
• Innovation showcase: a live demo of Harmonic, our AI analytics platform
What attendees took away
Three themes came up again and again in the feedback.
Data foundations come first. Before AI can help with commercial decisions, the data underneath it has to be connected and trusted. This was the point attendees took away most often from the Harmonic showcase.
"AI can only be as powerful as the data foundation behind it."
Attendee, GSK
Messy customer data can be fixed. Matching healthcare organisation (HCO) and healthcare professional (HCP) records across different sources is a long-standing pain point in pharma. Seeing it handled in practice struck a chord.
"Complicated HCO & HCP data can be solved now."
Wesley Chang, AstraZeneca
"The ability to match/integrate entities across multiple data sources is impressive."
Attendee, DKSH
AI adoption is about people as well as technology. Getting AI used day to day takes more than a new platform. Teams need shared data and need to work together across functions.
"Learnt more about other companies' projects and how they integrate AI into their work platforms."
Sandy Chu, AstraZeneca
"Data integration and people collaboration are the foundations for AI adoption."
Attendee, Novo Nordisk
What's next
Taipei was the start. The Asia Roadshow continues with Singapore and Malaysia, and we will share highlights from each stop here.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to our speakers, Yang Tao and Vicky Lin, for sharing their experience so openly.
